‘Naked Statistics: Stripping the Dread from the Data’ by Charles Wheelan

The secret behind many so-called ‘Studies’?

Or the decision of selecting the target audience?

or even setting the narrative in favor of a product/person/company and political party?

Data is not that secret actually…

It is de facto ‘Statistics’. The science or maths behind the most studies, analysis, business decisions & social influencing.

A subject which is often seen as very confusing and makes nervous most of its learners.

If this is also the case with you as it was with me and you are looking for motivation to study ‘Statistics’, read ‘Naked Statistics’ written by Charles Wheelan. It is an excellent book to get the reader out of his/her nervousness & start loving ‘Statistics’.

In fact, I have listened to it on Audible and found it most satisfactory. I started loving ‘Statistics’ and got into the path of serious learning thereafter.

The book is not written to teach you maths but the intuition behind the statistical concepts. You will learn through real-life case studies how statistics played a vital role in making certain key decisions in the past.

You will be amused to know how statistical knowledge is often misused knowingly or unknowingly to publish irrelevant or even contradictory studies like ‘Studies show that green tea is good for losing weight’ & ‘Studies confirm that green tea doesn’t help in losing weight’.

The book will keep you on an emotional roller coaster. You will feel cheated or are made a fool on many accounts in the past by corporates by presenting you enticing and convincing-looking facts.

You will laugh out loud at many other brilliant studies which are nothing but ‘catchy headlines to sell the news’.

The book will definitely open your eyes to a different reality. A must for all who are in the position of taking key decisions in different walks of life.

Thanks, Charles Wheelan for writing this amazing book…
